Queensland Responsible Gambling Code of Practice

The Queensland Responsible Gambling Code of Practice (PDF 305 K) provides a whole-of-industry approach to the promotion and provision of responsible gambling practices.

These practices are organised into the following categories:

The Code of Practice has been developed by the Responsible Gambling Advisory Committee and extensive consultation with key stakeholders and the broader community.

Advertising and Promotions Guideline

The Queensland Responsible Gambling Advertising and Promotions Guideline (PDF 900 K) and the Queensland Responsible Gambling Guidelines for Player Loyalty Programs (PDF 220 K) have been developed to support the gambling industry to implement Practice 6 - "Advertising and Promotions" of the Queensland Responsible Gambling Code of Practice.

Practice 6 requires gambling providers to develop and implement strategies to ensure advertising and promotions are delivered in a responsible manner with consideration given to the potential impact on people adversely affected by gambling.

The Guidelines apply to advertising and promotions in all sectors of gambling in Queensland and are to be used in conjunction with all other regulatory requirements for the conduct of gambling in Queensland.

Consumer and gambling provider rights and responsibilities

Under the Code of Practice, Queensland gambling providers commit to providing safe and supportive gambling environments for their customers. This is achieved by both the gambling provider and the customer understanding what is expected of them in relation to the responsible gambling practices described in the Code of Practice. These rights and responsibilities are outlined in a brochure (PDF 220 K).
