Professional Development

Young people live in a world with many opportunities for gambling. It is an issue which requires exploration of personal opinions and values, engagement with the wider community, and critical examination of a range of viewpoints.

The Responsible Gambling Education Principles and Guidelines (PDF 490 K) suggest that Responsible Gambling Education should be delivered by staff with understanding of responsible gambling issues. As a result, the Queensland Government is providing teachers with opportunities for professional development in responsible gambling education.

From March to May 2007, a series of workshops were held throughout the state.

For those unable to attend the workshops, the workshop resources will soon be available online.

A supplimentary online course will also be available to add to the your understanding of the issues surrounding responsible gambling education. Check back here soon for more details.
