Gambling in Queensland

The Queensland Government is committed to achieving a balance between the social and economic benefits and costs of gambling.

To achieve this, the community, industry and government work together to address issues related to gambling and to foster an environment of responsible gambling.

The Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing is responsible for the development and implementation of policies and programs designed to achieve this balance.

The Government has conducted three population surveys of the adult Queensland population: one in 2001, one in 2003-2004 and one in 2006-2007.

These population surveys explore gambling activity and the prevalence of problem gambling.
