Are you looking to work in the liquor or gaming industry?

Selling and supplying alcohol and/or providing gaming services brings with it a number of important legal obligations under Queensland liquor and gaming laws. Policies and procedures are in place to ensure that venues reduce the potential social harms which can be caused by the abuse of alcohol and gaming.

The Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) is responsible for issuing approvals and licences to individuals who are seeking employment in the liquor and gaming industry within Queensland.

How do I apply for an approval or licence to work in the liquor or gaming industry?

Completed applications can be either posted to the address below or delivered in-person to your nearest OLGR office. You must include your identification and supporting documentation with your application. All documentation must be clearly marked with your name and sent to:

What supporting documentation or training is required for my application?

All applications require supporting documentation to be submitted. If you apply online, supporting documentation can be uploaded at the time of lodging your application.

How long will my application take to process?

OLGR undertakes various investigations and enquiries into your suitability to be a liquor or gaming employee. You can expect that an assessment may take, on average, six (6) weeks although we endeavour to process your application as quickly as possible.

How do I receive my approval or licence?

If your application is approved, the approval or licence will be sent to you in the mail.
