Responsible Gambling Research Grants
As part of the broader research program, the Queensland Government seeks gambling-related research proposals to be funded through the Responsible Gambling Research Grants Program. The purpose of the grants program is to:
- enhance the quality and quantity of gambling related research in Queensland and
- contribute to the development of gambling policy in Queensland
Applications for the Responsible Gambling Research Grants program are, when available, advertised through this website.
A number of research projects have been funded since the inception of the Responsible Gambling Research Grants program. These research topics include:
- Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy
- Costs and benefits of gambling in socio-economically disadvantaged areas
- Mental health and gambling: A longitudinal study of youth
- Older people and responsible gambling strategies
- Access and gambling participation
- Psychological and physiological factors influence on gambling activity
- Gambling behaviour of gambling employees
- Internet-based delivery of problem gambling treatment
- M-gambling
- Attitudes towards money and subgroups
- Virtual jackpot (1 and 2)
- Assisting problem gamblers.
