Licensed and BYO restaurants
- Under the Liquor Act 1992 licensed restaurants can offer patrons a BYO option at the licensee's discretion
- Restaurants may charge corkage for BYO alcohol at the licensee's discretion
- Some licensed restaurants may also allow BYO on certain liquor only, such as bottled wine
- A liquor licence is not required to run a BYO restaurant but operators may need to apply for a permit from their local government authority.
