Making a complaint
As a member of the public you have the right to complain to the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing if you are being disturbed by a licensed business or believe you have been ill-treated as a patron.
The most common grounds for complaint are:
• trading practices (eg. refusal of service, loud music)
• patron behaviour (eg. shouting while waiting for taxis, brawling, vandalism and loud vehicle noises)
A complaint to the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing must be made in writing. It should detail your concerns and include the dates and times of any incidents.
If you are not prepared to lodge a written complaint or wish to remain anonymous there is no guarantee your complaint will be investigated. All written complaints will be acknowledged and followed up.
All written complaints received by the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing will be treated confidentially unless otherwise requested.
